The Effectiveness of Mind Mapping Method in Teaching Writing Research Proposal
Abstract
Writing and speaking are productive skill in mastering language, while writing is the most dificult than the other skill. In order to get a degree from university, students must write a scientific reseach. The goal of this reserach is to figure out the effectiveness of mind mapping in teaching and learning writing process. The writer used quantitative experimental research design in order to conduct this research. The population of this research was whole of students at the sixth semester (group A,B,C and D) while the sample was group A and B. Group A as the experimental while group B as the control group. Both of groups were treated with diffrent treatment. Group A was treated with mind mapping method while group B with conventional way. The writer compared the value with the formula of t-test. The result of this research showed that mind mapping method significant affect on students writing research proposal. It can be seen that t-test is lower than t-table, based on the 5% significant level. MainMapping method can be used as an alternative teaching on scientific writing.
