    Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension on Narrative Text through Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR).

    Abstract
    The objectives of this research is to know whether Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) improve the students’ reading comprehension on narrative text. Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) is a strategy of teaching reading comprehension which combines reading comprehension strategy and also working together cooperatively.The researcher conducted a classroom action research at the Tenth grade of SMK N 5 Medan. This research was conducted in class X DPIB 1 which contains of 32 students, including 24 males and 8 females. It consisted of 2 cycles. Each cycle consisted of three meetings.The result of this research showed that Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) could improve students’ reading comprehension on narrative texts at tenth grade of SMK N 5 Medan. The improvement can be seen from the result of the test. The mean score of pre-test was 57,64, post test 1 was 66,71, and post test 2 76,92. It means that there is a significant improvement in the students’ ability in comprehending narrative text using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR). Besides, the students were also more active and fun in joining class activities.
