dc.description.abstractProfile Picture of Facebook is a photo that used as an identity by the account owner to other users on Facebook social media with the aim of getting to know each other's picture of Facebook users even though they are online. This study focused on finding out the effect of applying Profile Picture of Facebook as strategy on students writing ability. This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The researcher took X1 IPA which consists of 20 students as an experimental class with used Profile Picture of Facebook and X1 IPS consists of 20 students as the control group used explanation technique. The Population of this study was 40 students. The writer took two classes as random sampling to see the effect of Profile Picture of Facebook in teaching writing. The data were taken by giving a Descriptive Test. The test were divided into two test: pre-test in the experimental class is 60,65 and the post-test is 84,45. The mean score of pre-test in the control group is 56 and the post-test is 80,85. It is conducted that the mean score of the experimental group is higher than a control group. The result that t- calculated > t-table as the level of significance p=0.05 (7.40 >1.734). The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It is suggested that teachers of English subject apply Profile Picture of Facebook as teaching strategy to help writing ability at eleventh grade students of Senior High School.en_US
