dc.description.abstractThe study is focused on figurative language that consist of Metaphor, simile, personification, metonymy, symbol, allegory, paradox, hyperbole, understatement, and irony. The objective of the study were to identify of figurative language in album “craziest thing happened in my backyard” and the dominant one type of figurative language. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The sources of the data were album “The craziest things that happen in my backyard” and the data were song lyrics entitled: Trash Talkin, 925, Here We go Again/ Fanboi, Plaza Avenue, Happy. After analyzing, it was found that there were 45 sentences of album The craziest things that happen in my backyard. The findings of this study were found that Hyperbole is 11 type, the second is Personification i.e, 7 type, the third is Metonymy i.e., 6 type, the fourth is Allegory i.e., 6 type, the fifth is a Paradox i.e., 4 type, the sixth is a Metaphor i.e., 3 type, the seventh is a Simile i.e., 3 type, the eighth is an Understatement i.e., 3 type, the ninth is a Symbol i.e., 1 type, and the last is Irony i.e., 1 type. Hyperbole 11 is the dominant type of figurative language in album.en_US
