This Study aims to determine the effect of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type
of cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes. This type of research is a
quasi-experimental with a population of all grade 8th students of SMP Negeri 1 Bilah
Hulu. The research sample was taken non-randomly with purposive sampling
technique, namely grade 8th-1 as the experimental class and grade 8th-1 as the control
class, each of which consisted of 30 people. The research instrument used consisted of
an observation sheet on student learning activities and an objective test in the from of
multiple choice. Based on the results of data analysis after being given different
treatments, the posttest average value for the experimental class was 86.50 with a
standard deviation of 6.58 and the posttest average value for the control class was
74.83 with a standart deviation of 8.46. Before being tested with the t-test, a
prerequisite test was conducted in which each sample has normal dan homogeneous
data. The results of the one-tail t-test calculation of posttest data at α = 0.005 obtained
tcount= 3.49 and ttable= 1.67 which indicates that tcount > ttable, so Ho and Ha is accepted. It
was concluded that there was a significant effect of the numbered heads together type
of cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes.
