dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study improve learning outcomes of student’s critical thinking
activities by applied the problem-based learning for grade 8th at SMP Negeri 1 Borbor.
The study was The Classrom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles.
Each cycle has stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection.
The strategy used student critical thinking oriented learning has been designed in two
groups named pre-test and pos-test. Based on the result of the study, it was found that
in the first cycle, 2 people (6,90%) had very high and moderato critical thinking skills,
while 7 people (24,13%) had low critical thingking, and 16 people (55,17%) learning
activity is very low. Furthermore, in the second cycle, 22 people (75,86%) had very
high critical thinking, 2 peole (6,90%) were classified as high and 5 people (17,24%)
were low. For student learning outcomes in the initial ability test of cycle I, the average
was 58,28%, while for the post-test the average was 64,48%. Furthemore in cycle II,
the average value of the pre-test was 65,86%, while the post-test value was 77,58%. It
was concluded that there was in increase in learning outcomes abd critical thinking in
student’s skills in grade 8th student’s of SMP Negeri 1 Borbor starting from cycle I and
Cycle II after applied learning be oriented on critical thinking activity. | en_US |
