    Abstract
The role of women to harmonize the welfare of rural communities is a strategy to support economic improvement in accelerating production development. This strategic role can be seen through capital formation (a form of capital), and sustainable development (support for development/development) that is continuous or sustainable. Actually, development that is harmonious and even is created in a movement from top to bottom (top down)) or from bottom to top (botton up). The village community development movement should not ignore the roles of women both in the form of production, and also in accommodating the village products. The socio-cultural movement played by women covers various aspects of life, especially in the economic field (especially income), and takes place in a sustainable manner. In the national development policy in Indonesia, village development is an integral part of national development, meaning that if there is women's participation in national development, women's participation must also be included in village development. Although sometimes neglected, women's participation at the village and environmental levels is not disclosed because women are stereotyped in the domestic sphere (room, kitchen and bathroom). The harmony of village development is a development process that covers all aspects of human life in the village and is carried out in an integrated manner with the development of self-help cooperation.
