dc.description.abstractThis study aims to describe the translation accuracy in translating idioms (English – Indonesia) by google translate. This study uses a qualitative method to examine the accuracy of the translation of English idioms into Indonesian using Google Translate. The main data source is the result of the google translate translation. The data source is the novel entitled “Out Law” by Ted Dekker chapter 1 and 2. There were some steps taken to collect the data. The accuracy of the results of the google translate translation will be tested using data sheets given to a professional translator. The results of the translation analyzed whether the meaning has been conveyed or not. The findings of this study show that from 21 data, there are 6 data or 28,5% which are accurate translations, 9 data or 43% are less accurate translations, and 6 data or 28,5% are inaccurate translations. Total average for overall data is 2. So the researcher concludes that the accuracy of translating English idioms into Indonesian using Google Translate is lessaccurate translation. Translators who use machine assistance, especially google translate, need to re-edit the translation so that the results are more accurate.en_US
