dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to determine the improvement of pronunciation in oral descriptive text. This research method is classroom action research which was carried out in two cycles and each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. This research was conducted in SMK PADAMU NEGERI MEDAN and involved 15 students in the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. The research findings showed that; (1) Video succeeded in improving students' pronunciation ability in descriptive texts, and (2) changes in the understanding of students' speaking abilities were influenced by two factors, namely (a) internal factors where students' speaking abilities changed due to motivation and anxiety, and ( b) external factors which include learning materials, class activities, class management and teacher approaches. It can be concluded that the using video in teaching pronunciation in descriptive text can provide significant results on the improvement of their speaking skills.en_US
