dc.description.abstractIn this research, the writer focused on The effect of Mini-drama on the Speaking performance of the Seven Grade students 2021/2022. The object of the study is to find out whether Mini-Drama affects on the speaking performance on the Seven Grade Students at SMP Santa Lucia Medan.The subject of the study is Mini-Drama technique. The instrument of collecting data which the writer use is speaking test. This reserach used experimental quantitative research.The population is 75 Students and sample which writer used were students of seven-grade junior high school in Santa Lusia Medan, consists of 20 students. The data were taken by giving a speaking test. The oral was divided into tests: pre-test and post-test for both experimental and control groups. The mean score of the pre-test in the experimental group is 4,43 and the post-test is 78. The mean score of the pre-test in the control group is 4,36 and the post-test is 57,2. It is conducted that the mean score of the experimental group is higher than the control group. The result that t-observed > t-table as the level of significance p=0.050 (15,1 > 1,73406 ). The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It is suggested that teachers of English subject apply Mini-drama technique as an alternative teaching technique to help and enrich speaking skills at the seven-grade of Junior high School.en_US
