dc.description.abstractThis thesis title is “ The Analysis Of Figurative Language In Willow Song Lyrics Sung By Taylor Swift”. In writing this paper, the study of linguistics by applying description Qualitative method is applied by the writer. The theory of Figurative Language applied is by Perrine in Wibisono and Widodo (2019) namely: simile, Simile, personification, synecdoche, symbol, paradox and irony, Apostrophe, hyperbole, understatement, Alliteration, Allusion, Onomatopeia .The writer found there were five types of figurative language in songs From totally 32 sentences 3.4% Symbol, 31.1% Similee, 6.2% Personification, 6.2% Alliteration, 6.2% Synecdoche, 12.5%Understatement, 12.5% Metonymy, 6.2% Irony, 15.6% Hyperbole. These findings show that hyperbole is the most dominant in Taylor Swift‟s song and based on the contextual meaning of overall song lyrics of Taylor Swift tell about the love story, pain heart and deeply treachery.en_US
