| dc.description.abstract | This thesis was discussed about “Realization of Logical Function on Joe Biden’s Victory Speech in the United States Presidential Election 2020”. The objective of the study was to identify the types of logical function and the dominant type of logical function found on Joe Biden’s Victory Speech in the United States Presidential Election 2020. The study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative research. The writer took the data of logical function and source of data from Joe Biden’s Victory Speech in the United States Presidential Election 2020 in link YouTube sky news. The instrument of collecting data was observation. The results of this study shows there were eight types of logical function on Joe Biden’s Victory Speech in the United States Presidential Election 2020. They were hypotactic elaboration 9 clauses (15,52%), paratactic extension 25 clauses (43,10%), hypotactic extension 2 clauses (3,45%), paratactic enhancement 7 clauses (12,07%), hypotactic enhancement 3 clauses (5,17), paratactic locution 5 clauses (8,62%), paratactic idea 5 clauses (8,62%), and hypotactic idea 2 clauses (3,45%). The dominant type of logical function found on Joe Biden’s Victory Speech in the United States Presidential Election 2020 was paratactic extension 25 clauses (43,10%). This study suggested to the students of the English Department to enrich students' knowledge about the use of logical function (types of logical function) on Speech. To the lecturers of the English Department to give more information about the use of logical function (types of logical function) and can teach students in understanding the use of logical functions in the sense of how a clause is related to other clauses in a sentence. Through Joe Biden’s victory speech lectures can be used to communicate to the students and this study also would be a guide as lecturers who must prioritize performance first in the process of teaching and learning that would be carried out in the future and also for another researcher as a previous theory to make the new research in the future. | en_US |
