dc.description.abstractThis research was aimed to find out the usebility of technique in teaching reading skill. This research. This research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research was tenth grade students of SMA Nur Cahaya Medan in academic 2021/2022, which consisted 30 students. The objective of this research was to know the improvement of students reading skill through TPS technique. This research was conducted in two cycles which each consists of planning, acting, observing , and reflecting. The data were gathered through quantitative and qualitative data. The result of this research showed that there was increasing of students in reading. The mean of pre-test was 51.5. The mean of post-test I was 65.2. The mean of post-test II was 75.8. It indicated that the scores and the mean in second cycle were better than the first cycle. The percentage of students who got point >70 also grew up . In the pre test , the students who got point >70 up were 2 students (6.7%). In the post test cycle I, students who got point >70 up were 14 students (46,7%). The post test cycle II students who got point >70 up were 27 students (90.0%). In other words, the students are moreinterest and enthusiast in reading the text during teaching and learning process by use TPS technique. It showed that the students reading skill have increasing in the first meeting to the last meeting by used TPS technique.en_US
