, An Analysis of Code Switching and Code Mixing used by Azka Corbuzier in Video YouTube channel

Abstract

The study deals with the study on the code switching and code mixing used by Azka Corbuzier in video YouTube channel. This research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research. Using code switching and code mixing in society it has been common. It happens in the one of the phenomenon of Azka Corbuzier video YouTube channel. Therefore, this research focused on code switching and code mixing that appear of Azka Corbuzier in video YouTube channel. The writer only analyze the types of code switching and types of code mixing. The objective of this research was to describe the types of code switching and types of code mixing that found in Azka Corbuzier video YouTube channel. The instrument of collecting data is observation. The data of this research is the utterances of Azka Corbuzier in YouTube channel. The data is limited only in types of code switching and types of code mixing. There are 1 people as the subject that the writer found. The sources of data are taken from Azka Corbuzier in video YouTube channel where the writer has to focuses on 4 video from many video in Azka Corbuzier video YouTube channel that have analyzed by writers, and the object of this research conduct to Azka Corbuzier video YouTube channel. The data is utterances that found in video YouTube. Code switching by Wardaugh Ronald divided into two types, they are: situational code switching and methaporical code switching. Code mixing by theory Muysken divided into three type: insertion, alternation and congruent lexicalization. The result after analyzing the video the writer found 14 data (18%) from types of code switching. from methaporical code switching they are 14 data and situational code switching is zero data. For code mixing the writer found 62 data. They are 48 data (64%) from insertion, 14 (18%) data from alternation and congruent lexicalization is zero data. Therefore, the data found from Azka Corbuzier in video YouTube channel that have been analyze are 76 data.
