dc.description.abstractThis study deals with the effect of using match technique on student’s vocabulary mastery. The objective of match in this thesis is to achieve student’s knowledge significantly affects students vocabulary. This technique can add student’s ability to learn the target language and make them enjoy in the class. The method of this research was experimental quantitative. Reseach design of this research used quasi experimental. The population was 60 students. The researcher sed took 40 students of SMP Negeri 1 Pegagan Hilir as the sample and they were divided into two grups. The first group was experimental class which was taught by applying match technique. While the second group was control class, it was taught by using conventiona way. The data were collected by administrating multiple choice test which consist of 50 items. These test consisted of two types, namely pre-test and post-test. As the result of the test, t-observed was 5,29 and t-table was 2,02 ( p: 0.05 ) the result of the data analysis show that the value of t-table 5,29 > 2,02 ( p: 0.05 ). It means that hypothesis alternative ( Ha ) is accepted while the null hypothesis ( Ho ) is rejected, therefore it is concluded thet match technique sgnificantly affects student’s vocabulary. Match technique helped the teacher should encourage the students to be active participating in teaching process so the students will get long memories easier. It can also help the students to feel enjoy and not bored while study English.en_US
