dc.description.abstractThis research aims to find out the effect of Explicit Vocabulary Instruction Method of Students Vocabulary Mastery. The research design of this study is experimental quantitative. The eighth-grade students in PARULIAN 2 Medan were chosen as the sample of this study with a total number of 20 students. The experimental and control class employed pre-test and post-test. These tests proved in form of a vocabulary test. The data of the tests were calculated using the t-test formula. The result showed that the post-test score was higher than the pre-test. The finding showed that there was an effect significantly on the students’ vocabulary mastery performance after undertaking treatments. There was an enhancement of the students’ number score. The mean score of the experimental class range from the pre-test was 65, 5 and from the post-test was 83, 5. And for the control class the mean score from the pre-test was 63, 3 and from the post-test was 75, 5. Thus, Explicit Vocabulary Instruction can be used as one of the methods of teaching English, especially for vocabulary mastery.en_US
