dc.description.abstractThis study aims to find out cognitive level of reading questions in English textbook for grade XII. The objective of this study was to find out cognitive level of the reading question based on revised bloom’s taxonomy. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research were the reading question in English textbook for grade XII senior high school. The textbook of V units, there were unit 1 is Telling Stories (Halloween, p.20, and The History of Jack and the Beanstalk, p.32); Unit 2 is Finding Out Why It Happens (Sound Recordings and Reproduction, p.69, and Tsunami p, 73); Unit 3 is Pros and Cons (The Advantages and the Disadvantages of Nuclear Energy, p. 102, and Cloning of Animal: Allowed or Not Allowed?, p.117); Unit 4 is Tell Me the Story (The Wrestling Match, p.139, and Ockok the Owl and Wak the Hawk, p. 147); Unit 5 is Thinking Critically (The Jungle Book 2, p. 171, and Spiderman 2 – the Review, p. 185). The result of this study was the whole reading questions in textbook covered three cognitive levels, they are CI (Remembering) are 32, C2 (Understanding) are 9, and C4 (Analyzing) are 14.en_US
