dc.description.abstractBorrowing words is taking or adopting of word from other language especially in English words. This study purposed to identify the types of metaphor in the Bruno mars Lyrics songs. In this study, the researcher analyzed types of Metaphor and the most dominant of metaphor in the Bruno mars Lyrics songs. Based on the theory of Goatly (1997:136) states that there are six types of metaphor, namely: “Active metaphor, Inactive metaphor, Asymmetric metaphor, Subjective metaphor, Dead metaphor, Mimatic metaphor”. This study used descriptive qualitative research to analyze the data. The source of data was the Bruno mars Lyrics Songs, the instrument of collecting data were observed and documentary and technique collecting data by the followed steps: search 10 lyrics songs of “Bruno Mars” from Kapan Lagi.com, the writer transcrib the data, the writer will take note to the lyrics which contain the types of metaphor. The researcher found 27 data that involved in Active metaphor(18,51%), Inactive metaphor (3,70%), Asymmetric metaphor (3,70%), Subjective metaphor (18,51%), Dead metaphor (25,92%), Mimetic metaphor (29,62%) From the result, the researcher concluded that Mimetic metaphor is the most dominant type of Metaphor found in Bruno Mars Lyrics Songs.en_US
