dc.description.abstractThis Study focused on finding out the Effect of applying Talking Chips Technique On Students’ Speaking Skill. This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The object of the study were students of tenth grade senior high school in kampung karo Sidikalang village consists of 20 students. The data were taken by giving speaking test. The test were divided into to tests: pre-test and post-test for both experimental and control group. The mean score of pre-test in experimental group is 46.25 and the post-test is 63.75. The mean score of pre-test in control group is 45.625 and the post-test is 53.75. It is conducted that the mean score of experimental group is higher than control group. The result that t-observed > t-table as the level of significance p=0.05 (3.20 > 1.734 ). The alternativ hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It is suggested that teachers of English subject to apply Talking Chips Technique as an alternative teaching technique to help and enrich speaking skill at tenth grade of Senior Gigh School.en_US
