dc.description.abstractThis research entitled “Figurative Language Found in Plato Ginting Song”. The research deal with the figurative language that consist of simile, metaphore, personification, apostrophe, hyperbole, antithesis, synecdoche, paradox and symbol. The objective of the reaserch are intended to identify of figurative language in Plato Ginting song lyric and the most dominant type of figurative language. The descriptive qualitative was used in the analysis of the figurative language. The data of this study is derived from identify and classify the types of figurative language of the song lyric in Plato Ginting that contains of figurative meaning. The result showed that there were 49 data. The findings indicated that the lyric of Plato Ginting’s song applied seven types of Figurative language based on Siswantoro (2002:24); simile, metaphor, personification, apostrophe, hyperbole, antithesis, synecdoche. The findings of this reaserch were found that the number of simile is found 2, the number of metaphor is found 12, the number of personification is found 4, the number of apostrophe is found 15, the number of hyperbole is found 15, the number of antithesis is found 1, the number of synecdoche is found 4. The types of figure of speech that most dominantly found in Plato Ginting song is apostrophe.en_US
