    Abstract
Some research showed that students have difficulty in understanding electrical and magnetic material. It was caused by electrical and magnetic materials were abstract, complex, and involve complicated mathematics. For this reason, a strategy is needed that can help students to understand problems in magnetism. One learning strategy that can assist students in understanding electrical and magnetic material, such as: by synthesizing components of analogies, representations, examples of solutions, and reflection. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of analogy learning strategies, representations, examples of solutions, and reflection (I4). The population was physics education students at FKIP UHN Pematangsiantar. Data collection tools used tests, observation sheets, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential analysis. After being implemented, the I4 learning strategy was expected to be effective in improving students' metacognition and problem solving on electrical and magnetic material in the Basic Physics II course. Keywords: Metacognition, Problem Solving, Electricity & Magnetism
