Analisis Dimensi Sosial dan Ekonomi Kemiskinan di Kabupaten Samosir Dan Peran Komoditi Pangan Utamanya Sebagai Alternatif Penanggulangannya
Abstract
The problem of poverty is not only about the inability of the economy, but also of economic inequality and income distribution between groups of people. Economic activity that has a comparative advantage should be utilized to assist the process of increasing people's income, because in virtually every region has a say in the development sector in increasing revenue potential and poverty alleviation. This study was conducted to see the profile of poverty in Samosir Regency and development of major food commodities as an alternative to overcome. This study uses analysis of the social and economic dimensions to see the profile of poverty in Samosir Regency, and Location Quotien Analysis to see the role of major food commodities as alternative countermeasures. Based on the research concluded : a) the average poverty rate in Samosir Regency 16.46 %, higher than the poverty rate in North Sumatra 11.31 %, b) Samosir Regency has two kinds of major food commodities namely; rice and corn. Through this study it is recommended that: a) Samosir Regency government must perform its main food commodities increased productivity through a variety of programs in order to meet the needs of the community, b) Samosir Regency government must undertake mapping pockets of poverty and synergize economic activities that can sustain the life of the community, c) Samosir Regency government should do for job creation in this district are very high unemployment
