THE EFFECT OF SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY
Abstract
This research intends to find out the effect of Small Group Discussion (SGD) on the students’ reading comprehension at English Department Students at FKIP UHN Pematangsiantar. The multiple choice tests in form of pre-test and post-test were given to 80 students as the sample of the research. The result indicated that the students in experimental group made the better one than the students of control group. The total range of experimental class is 535 and the total range of control class is 365. Finally the conclusion proposed that using small group discussion method significantly or effectively to increase the students’ ability in reading comprehension and the students who were taught by using small group discussion method.
