    Abstract
    An experiment studied the effect of dose of Rustica Yellow (RY) and spacing on growth and yield of mungbean was carried out from August until December 1997 at KP Sei Melingkar, Experiment Station of Agriculture Faculty of North Sumatera St. Thomas Catholic University. Four RY dose levels tested were: no RY (R0), 200 kgs RY/ha (R1), 400 kgs RY/ha (R2), and 600 kgs RY/ha (R3). Three kinds of plant spacing were: 50 cmx 5cm (J1), 25cmx10cm (J2), and 20cmx12,5cm (J3). Plant density was 400.000 plants/ha, one plant per hole. Experiment replicated three times. The results showed that aplication of 200 kgs RY/ha or more would significantly increased plant height and pod number per plant. The same was happened to the weight of dry seeds per plot if the plants were fertilized with 600 kgs RY/ha. Date of 75% plants flowering and date of first harvest was not affected by RY dose. Plant spacing, and the interaction between RY dose and plant spacing did not significantly affected all parameters observed.
