Basically, the regency of the Toba Samosir, Humbang Hasundutan, and Samosir was devided from North Tapanuli. According to the regional macroeconomic data on year 2001-2011, were sourced and analyzed from "Gross regional domestic product" and "Sumatera Utara in Figures", obviously that North Tapanuli is no better than other regencies. In general, the data of GRDP, GRDP per capita, economic growth, number of people under poverty line, human develpoment index, and prime sector of Toba Samosir is better than North Tapanuli. Meanwhile, Humbang Hasundutan and Samosir much better ini some regional macroeconomic data above. The four regencies have no specialization, because the largest number of their economic sector doesn't as a prime sector in the province of North Sumatra. Contrary to the Toba Samosir, looking at it from the type of economic growth figure, North Tapanuli, Humbang Hasundutan, and Samosir more often as a "stagnant region" in the province. Nevertheless, the devided of North Tapanuli has encouraged their regencies to arrange and manage their development programs which suitable to their economic potential and resources.en_US
