dc.description.abstractThe background of the study, Language is the way of doing communication in human interaction. There are many kinds of language, one of them is english. English as one of the international language has a great influence to the most Indonesians. This Study attempts to improve students’ achievement in reading comprehension by using Taba Model. This study was conducted by using Clasroom Action Research. The Subject of this research was class X AP(Administrasi Perkantoran) in Vocational High School which consist of 26 students. This research was conducted in two cycles. Cycle I consisted of two meetings, cycle II consisted of three meetings and Pre-Test consisted into one meeting. The instrument of collecting data were taken from quantitative research (reading comprehension test) and qualitative data (diary notes,, interview, questionnare sheet and observation sheet). The writer concluded that the Students in Classroom Action Research who applied Taba Model, the data analysis of the students’ score in Pre-test mean was 47.50. the mean’s score in post test I (Cycle I) was 61,53 and the mean in the post test II (cycle II) was 81.73. The percentage of students who got the minimum of criteria (KKM) in every test, namely; the percentage in pretest was 7,69% , in post test I was 46,15% and in Post test II was 96,15%. The students can improve their score from lower until higher scores.this implies that the using of Taba Model could be applied as an alternative model in reading comprehension.en_US
