dc.description.abstractThe objectives of this research are : (1) to identify errors in transcribing English Vowels of the second semester students of English Education Department of Teacher Training Faculty of HKBP Nommensen University Medan (2) to classify the errors by its types in Transcribing English Vowels of English Education Department of Teacher Training Faculty of HKBP Nommensen University Medan. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research is carried out on the second semester students of English Education Department of Teacher Training Faculty of HKBP Nommensen University Medan. There are 10 students as the participant. The data is obtained by transcribe English vowels. The data is analyzed by using error analysis procedure ; identifying the error and describing the error. The research found that there are errors in transcribing English vowels. The percentage number of transcribing English vowels from the types of error are Omission ( 50 errors vowels), Addition ( 36 error vowels) , Misinformation (151 errors vowels ) and Missordering (5 errors vowels).en_US
