dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about The Effect of Using Noting, Interacting, Summarizing and Prioritizing (NISP) Strategy on Students’ Achievement in Reading Comprehension of the Tenth Grade of SMA GKPI Medan. The objective of the study was to investigate the influence of Noting, Interacting, Summarizing and Prioritizing (NISP) strategy on students’ achievement in reading comprehension. This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. This subject of the study was grade ten students of SMA GKPI Medan. The population of this research was 120 students which consist of four classes. The writer took X-IPS 2 as experimental which was applied by NISP strategy and X-IPS 1 as control group which was applied by conventional teaching. There were 30 students of each group. The total sample was 60 students. The instrument of collecting the data was reading test. The procedure of collecting data was pre-test, treatment and post-test to both of groups. The treatment in experimental group was applied by using NISP strategy, but in control group was applied by Conventional teaching. The mean score of pre-test in experimental group was 45,46 and the post-test was 81,53. The mean score of pre-test in control group was 51,26 and the post-test was 73,53. It means that NISP strategy can be used as teaching approach alternative to enrich students reading at grade ten.en_US
