    Abstract
    This study focuses on finding out The Effect of Using Chain Drill Technique on Speaking Ability of The Eight Grade Students at SMP Negeri 37 Medan. This study was conducted by applying quantitative experimental design. The population of this research was eight grade students of SMP Negeri 37 Medan. There sixty students were used as the sample of research. This study was conducted with two randomized groups namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group was thaught by Chain Drill Technique, while the control group was taught without Chain Drill Technique. The instrument of collecting the data was speaking test. The result of the t-test analysis shows that the t-observed is higher than t-table with the level of significant (0,05) and the degree of freedom (df=70). The result of analysis showed that the hypothesis of the study was accapted. It can be concluded that Chain Drill Technique affects Speaking Ability.
