dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about the effect of students’ narrative texts using short animated stories of the second grade students’ at SMP Nasrani 2 Medan in academic year 2019/2020. The object of this study was to find out does the use of short animated stories effect students’ ability in writing narrative texts in class second of SMP Nasrani 2 Medan in the academic year of 2019/2020. The subject of this study second grade students at SMP Nasrani 2 Medan. The data writing test. The study used experimental quantitative method as a research design. There were three types of generic structure in narrative text, namely orientation, complication, and resolution. In complication, it was devided into three part namely complication one, complication two, complication three. After done the treatment, students’ ability increase on orientation(23,4%), complication one (35,7%),complication two(27,5%),complication three(34,4%), resolution(10%). The result of the data between variable X, and X using t-test formula showed that the value of to (t-observation) was 2,58, it was higher than t-table (2,58>2,10) p 0.05. It means that the treatment was accepted.en_US
