dc.description.abstractThis study is aimed to figure out the types and the dominant types of reading exercises on the English textbook used by the first year students of SMA SWASTA METHODIST 7 Medan. The design of the study is descriptive qualitative research. The data of this research kinds of reading exercise in English textbook entitled Pathway to English for senior high school. This research show that the types of reading exercise in Pathway to English textbook are multiple choice is 2 or 4.4 %, matching is 16 or 35 %, true or false is 3 or 6.7 % completion item is 10 or 22 % and short or long answer question is 14 or 31 %. In addition to that, this research to figure out the dominant type of reading exercise is matching or 35 %.en_US
