dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about Analysis Non-Observance of The Maxims In Efl Classroom Interaction At SMA GKPI Pamen Padang Bulan In Medan. The objectives of this research were to find out the ways, the dominant ways of flouting a maxim, violating a maxim, infringing a maxim, opting out a maxim, and suspending a maxim in student’s Audio Record. This study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative research. The analysis was based on the audio record which by SMA class X students of GKPI Pamen Padang Bulan In Medan. The writer took 1 sample Audio Record that was analyzed. The result of analyses conclude that there were 26 flouting a maxim, 9 violating a maxim, 4 infringing a maxim, 1 opting out a maxim, 0 suspending a maxim. It showed the most dominant of flouting a maxim (65%), the most dominant of violating a maxim (22,5%), the most dominant of infringing a maxim (10%), the most dominant of opting out a maxim (2,5%), and the most dominant of (0%). Flouting a maxim is the most dominant one because it indicates action, activity, things that were done or happened physically in the outside world of human beings. In the Audio Record result by the X class students of SMA GKPI Pamen Padang Bulan In Medan. Most of teacher and students do flouting a maxim because the classroom atmosphere force them to do this. Based on the students’ needs, the teacher did the Non-observance Gricean Maxim in their talk in the class. They did that in order to develop the interaction in the teaching learning process.en_US
