dc.description.abstractThis research was entitled the Effect of Question Answer Relationship Strategy on Narrative Text Reading Comprehension of the Eight Grade students at SMP Swasta GKPI Padang Bulan Medan”. The background of the problem of this research was students’ reading comprehension in naarrative text. This research was intended to find out one formulation of the problem : 1. Does Question Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy Significantly Affection reading comprehension of narrative text of VIII grade the student’ achievement in reading narrative text?”. This research conducted by using quantitative research. The subject of this research is class of VIII A and VIII B SMP Swasta GKPI which consists of 60 students. Each classesconsists 30 and 30 students; the classes were divided in two groups, namely experimental group nd control group. This research was done in three meetings. The instrument used to collect the data was a set of multiple choice test. The pre-test and post-test were administrated. The data were analyzed statically by applying the t-test formula. The result show that t-observed in higher than t-table value 74.4 ˃ 65.56t the level significance is 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) is 58. The result shows that the hypothesis of this study is accepted. In other words, Question Answer Relationshipsiginifcantlyeffect students’ reading comprehension of narrative text.en_US
