An Analysis of figure of speech in Daily Devotional of My Bible Application.

Abstract

This thesis deals with figure of speech in the Daily Devotional of My Bible Application. The objectives of this study are types of Figure of speech are found inDaily Devotionaland the meanings of use figure of speech in Daily Devotional. The descriptive-qualitative was used in the analysis of the figure of speech. The data of this study is derived from the underline of the sentences in the Daily Devotional of My Bible Application that contains the figure of speech. The result showed that there were 68 sentences. the findings indicated that the Daily Devotional applied 6 types of figure of speech based on wren and martin : Simile, Metaphor, Personification, Apostrophe, Metonymy, Synecdoche. The total amount of figure of speech in each types are Simile (10), Metaphor (20), Personification (7), Apostrophe (7), Metonymy (1), and Synecdoche (23).
