Identification of Mispronunciation on English Phonemes Uttered by Students at SMA Swasta Hosana Medan

Abstract

The objectives of the study is to identify some English phonemes uttered by students at SMASwasta Hosana Medan.The researcher conducted the students grade x atSMA Swasta Hosana Medan on July 16th 2018. This research was conducted in class X which contains of 15 students, including 5 males and 10females. The research made consisted of one meetings.students can not pronounce consonant English phonemes /ʤ/, /θ/, /ʃ/, /ʧ/, /ð/ in some words, and vowel English phonemes /i:/, /æ/, /u:/, /ɔ/, /ʌ/ in some words. Students can not pronounce well consonants in initial consonants and students can not pronounce well vowels in front vowel, central vowel and back vowel.
