dc.description.abstractIn this research, the researcher focused on the types of translation procedure used by students in SMA Negeri 20 Medan in translating the synopsis. It is to describe kind of translation procedure and translation procedures dominantly are applied by the student in Synopsis of The Cinderella Movie.The design of this study was a descriptive qualitativeresearch. The instruments of this research were the student as the main instrument and data sheet. The researcher collected data through steps by analysis the students’ paper in translating english synopsis of The cinderella into Indonesia. The researcher analyzed the data by classifying the synopsis, identifying the translation procedures that are applied in translating the synopsis of The Cinderella Movie, and analyzing the text translation with its translationprocedure. Types of translation Procedure is borrowing, calque, literal translation, transportation, modulation, equivalence, and adaptation. Transposition is dominantly applied by the student in translating the synopsis of The Cinderella Moviebecause transposition has 206 cases (33.61%). It is the highest position inthetranslationprocedure.en_US
