dc.description.abstractThis thesis is about The Effect of using Animation Film as medium in teaching writing. The objective of the study is to find out wheter or not Animation Film affect the students’ writing. This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The subject of the study was the second grade students of SMP NEGERI 28 Medan. The researcher took VIII C which consist of 30 students as control group but the representatives are 10 students used conventional approach and VIII A which consist of 30 students but the representatives are 10 students as experimental group used Animation Film. The population of this research was 60 students which consist of two parallel classes. The researcher took both groups as total sampling to see The Effect of Animation Film in teaching writing. The data were taken by giving essay test. The tests were divided into two tests ; pre-test and post-test for both experimental and control group. The mean score of pre-test in experimental group is 70 and the post-test is 89. The mean score of pre-test in control group is 64 and the post-test is 78. It is concluded that the mean score of experimental group is higher than control group. The result that t-calculated > t-table at the level of significance p = 0.05 ( 2.06>1.725).The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It means that Animation Film can be used as teaching approach alternative to enrich students’ writing at the second grade students of Junior High School.en_US
