The Effect of Multisensory Teaching Method on Students’ Vocabulary Achievement of Seven-Grade Students of SMP Swasta Parulian 3 Medan, A THESIS
Abstract
The research is experimental quantitative research. The aim of the research is to find out whether using multisensory teaching method affects the ability of students’ vocabulary of seven-grade students of SMP Swasta Parulian 3 Medan.
The population of this research was the students of SMP Swasta Parulian 3 Medan. There were sixty students of seventh grade junior high school as the sample of the research. This study was conducted with two groups namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group was taught by using multisensory teaching method, while the control group was taught by using traditional method. The instrument of collecting the data was multiple choice test which consist of 20 items. To obtain the reliability of the test, the research used Kruder-Richardson (KR-21) formula. The calculation shown the reliability was 1.0 The data were analized by using t-test formula. The calculation shown that t-observed (2.05) was higher than t-table (1.671) at the level of significance 0,05. It means that there were a significant effect of using Multisensory teaching method on the ability of students’ vocabulary. So, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.
