    Abstract
    This thesis attempts about an analysis of using Illocutionary acts find out in posts and comments on students‟ Instagram account at seventh semester English education in Nommensen HKBP University. This study was conducted into descriptive qualitative method. The instrument of collecting data was utterances in posts and comments in students‟ Instagram account. The data were analyzed by what types of illocutionary acts used on posts and comments on students‟ Instagram account. The result showed that there are 31 data on using illocutionary acts in posts and comments were collected in students Instagram account with the dominant type used is representatives 19 followed by directives 7 and the lowest type used is expressives 5 in students‟ Instagram account at seventh semester English education in Nommensen HKBP University. It means that the most dominant used is representatives because their utterances on their post and comments is in represetatives such as by informing, suggesting, stating and complaining.
