Hate Speech Analysis of Netizens’ Comments on Donald Trump’s Twitter Account
Abstract
This research deals with the analysis of the hate speech of netizens’ comments on Donald Trump’s Twitter account. This research aims to find out the types of hate speech and the dominant types of hate speech that are used by netizens. This research applied a qualitative descriptive method. The source of data was obtained from comments of netizens on 5 latest posts from Donald Trump and it was collected by looking at the Twitter comments column and taking notes, and the data were analyzed in some steps they are data condensation, data display, drawing, and verifying conclusion. The data of this research were 30 comments. The finding showed that there were 30 hate speeches which consist of
4 provoking, 1 inciting, 17 insulting, 1 defamation, and 7 spread hoaxes (hoax). The most dominant hate speech that was delivered to Donald Trump is a type of Insulting, with around 56,66%. The second most dominant type is the Spread of Hoaxes, with around 23,33% and the third most dominant type is Provoking, around 13,33%. The last most dominant type of hate speech that was delivered to Donald Trump is Inciting and Defamation which is have the same percent that is around 3,33%.
