Data were collected from the results of students' narrative text writing. The researcher's knowledge of the transitivity system is the key instrument. As a complementary tool to the instrument, the form of a data sheet was used during the research analysis. Based on the results, there are six types of processes found; (1) material process found 50 frequency, (2) relational process found
16 frequency,(3) mental processes used 7 frequencies, (4) verbal processes 0 frequency because they did not use verbal processes, (5) behavioral processes found 1 frequency and (6) existential processes found 2 frequencies in the analysis. Curriculum factors affect the quality of results; curriculum conveys information to textbooks about vocabulary categorization. The source material factor affects the results quantitatively, because there are differences in the number of clauses between genres. The benefits that can be obtained are that genre transitivity can stimulate writing skills to understand ideas and information in a text, and content enriches knowledge of writing skills that can be applied in spoken and written texts.
