    THE EFFECT OF USING VIDEO CLIP AS MEDIA INTO STUDENTS’ WRITING HORTATORY EXPOSITION TEXT AT EIGHT GRADE OF SMP GAJAH MADA MEDAN

    Abstract
    The study was focused on finding out the effect of using video clip into students‟ achievement in writing hortatory exposition text of eight-grade students 2020/2021. The objective of this study is to find out the application of poster significantly affect students‟ achievement in writing hortatory exposition text, the most of the students could not writing hortatory exposition text by focusing on generic structure and language features, and it made problems such as the students could not determine which one is identification and description (organization) and the characteristic (grammar, vocabulary, mechanics). This study was conducted by applying experimental quantitative research. The writer took 10 students as experimental group and 10 students as the control group. The experimental group used video clip and the control group used the explaining by conventional method. The data were taken by asking students to make writing hortatory exposition text. The test was divided into two tests they are pre-test and post-test for both experimental and control groups. The mean score of the pre-test in experimental group is 54,4 and the post-test is 83,4. The mean score of pre-test in control group is 50,2 and the post-test is 61,6. It was obtained that score of the experimental group higher than the control group. The result that score of the experimental group higher than the control group. The result that t-calculated>t-table s the level of significance p=0.05 (2.60>1.734). it means that Ha hypothesis was accepted or there was significant effect of using video clip into students‟ writing hortatory exposition text.
