AN ANALYSIS OF LANGUAGE STYLE AS FOUND IN UTTERANCES OF ANAK SASADA MOVIE SCRIPT

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the types of language style and the dominantly of language style as found in utterances Anak Sasada Movie Script. The source of data this taken from Anak Sasada Movie script. There are One Hundred Sixty Four in Anak Sasada Movie Script contains of a study about language style.The finding of this research were found This study used a qualitative descriptive method with the approach Language Style from Martin Joos (2020) with the five clearly distinguished styles namely: Frozen Style, Formal Style, Casual Style, Consultative Style and Intimate Style. The most dominant strategy of language style in Anak Sasada Movie Script is Casual style is 114 i.e 70% some sentences lead to motivation and admonition in daily life, friend and others relationship. On the other hand, frozen style, formal style, consultative style and intimate style are less dominant styles of language. They are Frozen is 2 i.e 1 %, Formal 31 i.e 19 %, Consultative 13 i.e 7 %, and Intimate Style 5 i.e 3 %. The writer would like to offer the suggestion to student of English Department to enrich their knowledge in understanding the Language style of when writing, to lecturer for teaching materials for students into better understand to used of language style process strategy and its effects and journalists. In this analysis found that the factors influence language style Anak Sasada Movie Script are participant, setting, topic and function.
