AN ANALYSIS OF ONOMATOPOEIA WORD IN COMIC TOY STORY “THE RETURN OF BUZZ LIGHTYEAR”

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to analyze the types of Onomatopoeia that used in the In Comic Toy Story “The Return of Buzz Lightyear”,to analyze why onomatopoeia used In Comic Toy Story “The Return of Buzz Lightyear”, and to investigate how the author describe the onomatopoeia word in Comic. The scope and limitation were focused about onomatopoeia words found In Comic Toy Story “The Return of Buzz Lightyear”. The researcher analyzed three types of onomatopoeia, there are Direct Onomatopoeia, Associative Onomatopoeia, and Exemplary Onomatopoeia. This study applied a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this reseach was taken Comic Toy Story “The Return of Buzz Lightyear”.Were the Comic The technique of data analyzing was from the data collection, data presentation, data verification and, data reduction. The research finding showed that there were 46 of onomatopoeia found in this research which consist of 31 words Direct Onomatopoeia, 6 words Associative Onomatopoeia, and 9 Exemplary Onomatopoeia based,Bredin's theory in Dofs (2008). Direct Onomatopoeia was the dominant types of In Comic Toy Story “The Return of Buzz Lightyear”.
