AN ANALYSIS OF LINGUISTICS PROBLEMS IN COMPOSING ENGLISH PARAGRAPH FACED BY THE STUDENTS OF SMK SWASTA JAMBI MEDAN

Abstract

Linguistics problems are a genre of composition that presents linguistic fact and phenomena in enigmatic form. This study waspurposed to identify the kinds of linguistics problems in descriptive text. This study used the theory of (Derzhanski(2009);Payne(2009).problems on linguistics may include: syntax, grammar, vocabulary and mechanic. This study used descriptive qualitative research to analyze the data. The source of the data was the students’ linguistics problems of SMK Swasta Jambi Medan in academic year 2019/2020. The researcher found 71 data that dominant is grammar (61.97%),vocabulary (38,02%), from the result, the researcher conclude that grammar is the most dominant type of linguistics problems of the Students of SMK Swasta Jambi Medan.
