An Error Analysis in Using Preposition of Place in Writing by the Second Semester of English Department Students at Hkbp Nommensen University in The Academic Year 2019/2020

Abstract

This thesis is about An Error Analysis of using preposition of place on Students‟ Writing Procedure Text. The objective of the research is to categorize the types of error in students‟ writing procedure text in using preposition of place and the dominant type of error in students‟ writing procedure text in using preposition of place. This research was conducted by applying Descriptive Qualitative research. The subject of this research was second semester students of English Department students in HKBP Nommensen University. The researcher took 15 students in getting the data. The instrument of collecting data was writing test. The procedure of collecting data was determining the subject of the research. In this case, the subject is students of the English Department in the second semester at Nommensen HKBP University. The researcher found that student made 16 errors and 5 mistakes made by second semester student.
