analysis of impoliteness strategies in commentary hate speech on jokowi’s speech about covid-19 pandemic as found in youtube

Abstract

The Objective of this research is to find out the impoliteness strategies in commentary hate speech on Jokowi’s speech about covid-19 pandemic as found in YouTube. The research design is used in this research is descriptive qualitative design. The source of the data is YouTube commentary . The data was collected from comments, and news in YouTube .The data is limited only to see impoliteness strategies according Culpeper. There are 100 people as the subject that the researcher found. YouTube commentary that will be analyzed by writers,and the object of this research will be conduct to commentary hate speech on Jokowi’s speech about covid-19 pandemic as found in YouTube. The data is conversation especially commentarry in youtube. impoliteness strategies according Culpeper devided into 5, namely bald on record impoliteness , positive impoliteness, negative impoliteness, sarcasm or mock politeness and withhold politeness.The result after analyzing the video, there were the totally of data code switching are bald on record there are 18 data,positive impoliteness are 21 data,negative impoliteness are 56 data,sarcasm/mock politeness are 5 data and no data from withhold politeness. While, in the impoliteness strategies, the dominant strategy was negative impoliteness.
