Improving students’ achievement in writing narrative text by using factual and Historical method
Abstract
This study was an attempt to discover the improvement students’ achievement in writing Narrative text by using historical and factual method, this study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class VIII-1 SMP METHODIST SIDIKALANG which consist of 15 student. The research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consist of two meeting the instrument for collecting data were quantitative data (writing test) and qualitative data (observation sheet and interview sheet). Based on writing test score, students’ score kept improving in every test. In orientation test the mean score was (72), in cycle one the mean of writing score was (74), and in cycle two the mean of writing score was (87). Based on observation sheets and interview sheet, it was found that teaching learning process well. Student were active and interested in writing. The result of the researcher showed that Factual and Historical method can improve students’ achievement in writing Narrative Text, it conclude that Factual and Historical method can improve students’ achievement in writing Narrative Text.
