AN ANALYSIS OF DEIXIS IN THE READER’S MAGAZINE “MY STORY” IN NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE

Abstract

This study deals with analyzing of deixis in four stories taken from National Geographic Magazine, namely “Last of the Amazon” by Scott Wallace (edition January 2019)“in brazil, the events set in motion by logging are almost always more destructive than the logging itself” by Blairo Maggi (edition January 2019)“ these are land grabbers. They have a lot of money. If they find me out here alone, they will kill me” by Jose Rosa, Rancher (edition January 2019) “what are doing down there?” by Douglas H. Chadwick(edition January 2019).The Objective of theStudy isto find out the types of Deixis used in The Reader’s Magazine “MY STORY” in a National Geographic Magazine. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research. The findings of this study show that there are five types of deixis found in ‘My Story’ in National Geographic Magazine
