The Effect of Neurological Impress Method in Teaching Reading at Tenth Grade Students of SMK N 5 Medan.
Abstract
This thesis was a study about the effect of neurological impress method in teaching reading at tenth grade students of SMK N 5 Medan. The object of this study was to find out does effect of neurological impress method in teaching reading at tenth grade students of SMK N 5 Medan. The subject of this study was tenth grade students at SMK N 5 Medan. The data was a multiple choice test. The study used experimental quantitative method as a research design. Finally, the result of this study showed there were two types of translation procedure used by the students in translating descriptive text. There were three types of generic structure in narrative text, namely orientation, complication, and resolution. In complication, it was devided into three part namely complication 1, complication 2, and complication 3. After done the treatment, students’ ability increase on orientation (40%), complication 1 (31.67%), complication 2 (32.14%), complication 3 (43.75%), resolution (33.34%). The result of the data between variable X1 and X2 using t-test formula showed that the value of to (t-observation) was 4.03, it was higher than the t-table (4.03>2.042: p = 0.05). It means that the treatment was accepted.
